  Health First: George Mason University Health and Fitness Expo

  Patient First was delighted to once again be a proud sponsor and vendor at the highly anticipated George Mason University Health and Fitness Expo, taking place on Thursday, March 23. This year's expo was an exciting and engaging event, featuring a wide array of vendors, a cook-off, DJ with music, free smoothies, most importantly, free health screenings. Attendees had the opportunity to receive blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar screenings, as well as HIV testing- all of which are crucial in promoting disease prevention and encouraging a healthier lifestyle. In addition to the screenings, the expo served as a platform for introducing George Mason University faculty, staff, and students to valuable resources within their community that can help them live a healthier life. By showcasing the latest in health and fitness trends, and promoting wellness through interaction and engagement, the George University Health and Fitness Expo underscores Patient First's commitment to helping people lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. We look forward to attending the George Mason University Health and Fitness Expo next year!

  Special Olympics - Dulles Plane Pull 2022

  Recently, Patient First was a sponsor for the Special Olympics Dulles Plane Pull in Dulles, VA. Besides the chance to tow some very large planes, participants received the chance to get up close and personal with everything from aerobatic prop planes, to fighters, to supersized cargo haulers. They were also able to meet the pilots and ask questions about aviation and aircraft handling Greater DC area Patient First employees had the opportunity to form a team and raise funds for the Special Olympics Virginia Chapter. The Patient First team had a fantastic experience at this very special event! The funds raised for the Special Olympics Dulles Plane Pull event provides year-round sports training and competitions, leadership opportunities, and health services to more than 3,500 athletes of all abilities. Patient First looks forward to supporting this event next year.

  Judge S. Woods Elementary School Mental Health Expo

  Patient First Supports School's Mental Health Expo Judge S. Woods Elementary School held its inaugural Mental Health Expo on Thursday, May 26th, which is in close proximity to our Landover Hills location. Hundreds of students, parents and teachers came out to participate.. The entire event was a great success with local health organizations coming together and providing health resources. During the event, they had a DJ, blood pressure screenings, Zumba and yoga classes, and other fun engaging health activities. As a proud community partner and supporter of healthy living, Patient First was thrilled to participate in the Expo and their mission to help students and staff with their mental health.

  Dulles Plane Pull

  On Saturday, September 14, we had the pleasure of participating in one of the most anticipated events by our local community and staff-- the Special Olympics Annual Dulles Plane Pull, held at Dulles International Airport. Now in its 31st year, this incredible event raised $580,000, with 80 teams of up to 25 people competing to see who could pull an 82-ton FedEx or United Boeing 757 airplane 12 feet in the shortest time. Participants lined up along a large rope attached to the aircraft to pull it, creating a thrilling competition.  In addition to the main event, the Dulles Plane Pull featured a festival with live music, food, vendor games, a car show, military aircraft, and a kid zone where we were stationed, next to the face painting and bouncy house.  For this event, we had two teams. The first team consisted of 20 center staff members who were eager and excited to pull the plane, while the second team remained at our tent to distribute information and provide blood pressure checks.   Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber Business Expo

  Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber Business Expo Events are back! On Monday, April 11th, over 40 local businesses in the Gaithersburg-Germantown area came together for the Expo Connect; a business expo where businesses and individuals from the community can view the full spectrum of Chamber member businesses. The event offered the community an opportunity to network with local businesses, engage with exhibitors, and discover resources for business growth. Two nurses from the local Germantown Patient First center were present. Patient First was excited to attend and looks forward to attending again next year!

  SummerFest

  This past Saturday, Bohrer Park in Gaithersburg came alive with the vibrant spirit of SummerFest, a long standing tradition where the Gaithersburg community gathers to celebrate American Independence with friends and family. The free event ran form 6pm to 11pm, featuring live music, food trucks and kids activities, all culminating in a spectacular fireworks display and a night glow after party. The weather was perfect for the festivities, with a beautiful sunny day and temperatures around 90F. It was wonderful to meet so many new faces, including residents from Germantown and Aspen Hill. We also the pleasure of reconnecting with previous patients from our Rockville and Germantown locations, who had nothing but praise for our front office staff.  Our booth was a hit, especially our chip clips and hand sanitizers, which were among the most requested items. SummerFest is one of the largest and most enjoyable events in Gaithersburg, and we always look forward to being a part of it. We can't wait to return next year for more fun and community engagement.
