  Burnside Plantation Serves As Venue For Bethlehem's Annual Blueberry Festival

  The Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites organization hosted its 37th annual Blueberry Festival at the beautiful Burnside Plantation, and Patient First was once again part of the fun of all things blueberry. We have participated in this event several times over the years, and were delighted to return again this year. Although Mother Nature threatened to deliver thunderstorms all weekend during the event, she was wrong. Instead of rain we got dry air and blistering heat, which made the blueberry pie and blueberry ice cream taste extra special. Although the overall foot traffic was down a bit this year (most likely due to the extreme heat), we enjoyed a steady flow of visits to our tent on both days of this weekend event.  As always, we provided complimentary blood pressure checks and a variety a great give away items. It is always nice to see the organization's President and CEO, LoriAnn Wukitsch, and this year was no exception.   Elmwood Park Zoo Hosts Annual "Boo At The Zoo" Event

  Each year the amazing Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown, PA hosts its annual "Boo at the Zoo" event in October, and this year was no exception. We were able to join the fun on site on Saturday, October 29 and it was a sensational day. Mother Nature was beyond kind to us, and everyone who came out to enjoy this fun day. We loved the temperature in the mid 60's and the bright sunshine we had all day. Organizers encouraged participants to bring out their little ghouls and ghosts for this annual Halloween event as the entire Zoo gets transformed for a "kooky, spooky Halloween celebration." And that they did. This family-oriented event attracted hundreds of children and their families. It was such fun to see all the fun and unique costumes that came by to visit with us. Many of the moms and dads, grandmas and grandpas were also in costume, which made things extra fun. If you haven't visited this beautiful little zoo, we encourage you to do so.   Patient First Participates in a Bethlehem Blueberry Tradition

  A delicious “Blueberry Festival” tradition in Bethlehem, PA returned to celebrate its 35th milestone anniversary this year, and we were part of the festivities for the first time this year. Held over a two-day weekend at the historic Burnside Plantation — site of an 18th-century Moravian farm complete with historic barns, a Colonial kitchen garden, a pollinator garden, and an apple orchard, and affectionately known as Bethlehem’s “Farm in the City” — the annual celebration provided participants with a variety of ways to enjoy all things blueberry. We had such a fun weekend representing our Lehigh Valley centers in Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton and talking with event participants about how we take care of people when they are sick or injured with non-emergency medical issues. Proceeds from this event will benefit Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites to maintain 20 historic landmarks, and Patient First is proud to support such worthwhile community activities.

  Inclement Weather Didn't Dampen Spirits At Bethlehem's 2023 Celtic Classic

  Mother Nature may not have been kind to the 2023 Celtic Classic event in Bethlehem, PA, but that surely didn't dampen our spirits, or the spirits of the world-class athletes who competed in the event, nor those of their families and friends, and attendees from all over the Lehigh Valley and beyond. Much to our delight, after all of the competitions concluded, several of the athletes came out into the crowd for food and beverage, and even a visit to our Patient First tent. We enjoyed great conversations with them, and even provided free blood pressure checks to those who were interested. It was such fun to meet and chat with these athletes in person. They were such fun, and so conversational with us! It was also great fun to see men, women and children of all ages in their kilts in keeping with the theme of the event and the Celtic cultural heritage.   Patient First Sponsors Hometown Holidays: A Community Gathering in Rockville, MD

  The City of Rockville held its annual Hometown Holidays: A Community Gathering event on Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29, at RedGate Park, near our center in Rockville, MD. About 10,000 people attended this free festival that included two stages of entertainment by local and regional entertainment, with more than 10 performers covering genres from rock and reggae to pop and blues. Patient First was a major sponsor of the event and Kids Stage. The Patient First Stage featured kid-friendly performances, dance, and an animal show. Activities for kids included things like the Sand Dune, Selfie Stations, as well as games like Cornhole, and Connect Four. In addition, the event featured Taste of Rockville, which featured cuisine from local restaurants. The entire event was a great success, and our staff had great engagement and interactions with attendees.

  Patient First Gets Funky at the 15th Annual Virginia Beach Funk Fest

  During the weekend of August 23rd and 24th, music filled the air at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront for two full days of music, food, and funk during the 15th Annual Virginia Beach Funk Fest Party. Rooted in R&B, jazz, gospel, and blues, thousands gathered from near and far to hear the likes of WAR, Doug E. Fresh, the SOS Band, and others reverberating off the shoreline and in between the hotels that line the boardwalk of the resort city. It was the perfect sendoff party to summer, and Patient First was there with a front row seat to all the action! A participant for a few years now, Patient First was once again back to offer free blood pressure screenings to festival goers and other passersby along the boardwalk. We completed well over 200 blood pressure checks in the two days we were at the event! Our giveaway items were big hits as well.
