  Maryland Seafood Festival 2023

  The 2023 Maryland Seafood Festival came a little earlier this year than in years past, and at a different location. What remained the same though, was the fun, the food, and the festive atmosphere that have kept crowds coming for 57 years! This year, the festival moved from its traditional location, and came to City Dock in Annapolis, just a stone's throw from the Naval Academy and the State House. Crowds were literally lining up at the gate, which was directly in front of the Patient First tent bringing each and every one of the thousands of ticket holders past our booth. We had scores of great conversations with people from all over the Delmarva region, who thanked us for the service we provided them, and loved how clean and organized the centers were. We also had quite a few people from western Maryland, the eastern shore, North Carolina and New York, who while unfamiliar with what we do, were very interested in having us expand into their hometowns.   Maryland Seafood Festival 2022

  It was the last crab feast of the summer for many, as they traveled to Sandy Point State Park along the west shore of the Chesapeake Bay on September 24th and 25th, for the 56th annual Maryland Seafood Festival. People from all across the Delmarva region turned out in droves to sample the wide range of culinary preparations made possible by the bounty of the bay. As a sponsor of the festival, our Patient First tent was one of the first to greet the approximately 45,000 guests as they passed through the gates of this two day event. Our staff heard nothing but wonderful things from our former patients about the treatment they received, including more than a few who credited our staff with literally saving their lives! In addition to the delicious array of seafood items being offered for sale, the festival featured a crab soup cookoff, several BMX stunt shows, an inflatable fun park, numerous live bands, craft vendors, and games like axe throwing and cornhole.   Gaithersburg Book Festival

  The City of Gaithersburg held its annual Gaithersburg Book Festival on Saturday, May 21, which is in close proximity to our Germantown location. Approximately 5,000 people, spanning all ages, came out to support the festival. Since its inception in 2010, the Gaithersburg Book Festival has quickly become one of the nation’s top literary events, attracting award-winning and best-selling authors, poets, and songwriters from across the country. The mission of the festival is to foster an interest in reading, writing and literary conversation. Patient First has been a proud sponsor of the Gaithersburg Book Festival event for over 5 years, and our staff had great engagement and interactions with attendees.

  42nd Annual Carytown Watermelon Festival

  On August 11, the community in and around Carytown gathered for the 42nd Annual Carytown Watermelon Festival- a sweet slice of Richmond tradition. Back in the day, merchants in Carytown would set out slices of watermelon in the middle of the dog days of summer to help promote their business and draw customers in. This idea grew in popularity and continued to grow until eventually, the merchants decided their idea would be better served as a 1-day festival. Since then, every August, Carytown shuts down for one day to hold an annual festival dedicated to summer's favorite fruit. At the center of the festival are still the bowls of watermelon, which are sold for $2, with proceeds benefitting local Shriners. In addition to the bowls of watermelon, the theme of watermelon - red and green- can be seen throughout the event between the many vendors, food trucks, kids' activities, down to the festive attire worn by children and adults alike.   Chesapeake Bay Hot Air Balloon Festival

  Thousands of people were looking to the skies in the fields of Delta, Pennsylvania this weekend. It wasn't because of some crop circle phenomena, but because of the Chesapeake Bay Hot Air Balloon Festival. Typically held on Maryland's eastern shore, this year the event was scheduled to be held in Bel Air, Maryland. Just 11 days before the event however, that location was no longer deemed viable by the Harford County Government. So, like any baloon pilot knows, an alternate landing site had to be found, and found fast. Fortunately, the Mason-Dixon Fairgrounds just a dozen miles to the north provided a safe haven for this year's event. Despite the sudden change of venue, tens of thousands turned out for this weekend long event. The vendor fair played host to our table and tent, where people from both PA and MD came by to collect our giveaway items, and tells us how much the appreciated the work our staff does, and the professionalism with which they do it.   Dominion Energy Riverrock Festival

  The Dominion Energy Riverrock Festival returned to downtown Richmond for a weekend of action-packed fun! Held on Brown's Island, the festival celebrates the great outdoors while displaying some of the city's most scenic landmarks and natural resources. Over 1,000 people signed up to participate in a number of events, including bike trail races, kayaking, paddle boarding, slack lining, rock climbing, boulder smashing, and so much more! This year, Patient First enjoyed the festival from a prime location in front of the air dogs show. This was filled with riveting acts from dogs all over, who literally leapt at the opportunity to strut their stuff. The crowds cheered on the pups in amazement! The energy was great, and there was a lot of excitement surrounding this multi-day festival that brought out more than 100,000 people.  Patient First truly enjoyed participating in this festival, and we look forward to seeing you all next year!
