  Patient First Supports 2nd Annual Asian Festival Did you know May is Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month? Patient First was one of the presenting sponsors for the 2nd annual Asian Festival.  Organized by the Old Town Fairfax Business Association to highlight Asian heritage through food, arts, crafts, education and performances, this one-day, outdoor family event spread out across Main Street in Historic Old Town Fairfax City. Patient First staff enjoyed interacting and engaging with many of the estimated 18,000 attendees. The entire event was a great success, and Patient First looks forward to supporting the Asian Festival next year.

  Virginia Beach Funk Festival

  Beach Events kicked off their annual Funk Festival at the Virginia Beach oceanfront on 24th Street. For 12 years, this exciting festival has brought people together for a weekend of music and fun. We know the saying that music is medicine for the soul. Inspired by several genres of music, funk's rhythmic pattern makes dancing hard to resist. People lined the boardwalk, grooving to music while stopping by the Patient First tent to collect free promotional items. With good weather and good vibes, Patient First was happy to participate in this electrifying event. We had a great time, and look forward to seeing you all next year!

  Patient First Gets Into the Holiday Spirit at the 40th Annual Richmond Christmas Parade

  The holiday season got off to a great start in Richmond, VA with the 40th annual Dominion Energy Christmas Parade. This rain or shine event, which is free and open to the public, drew large crowds from near and far who lined up along Broad Street as they eagerly waited for the legendary Santa to make his appearance. The parade began near the Science Museum of Virginia and concluded near the Richmond Coliseum. It included a variety of colorful floats, giant balloons, high school and college marching bands, dance groups, and playful holiday characters, including a particular Grinch whose heart grew three sizes that day. Patient First, who has sponsored and participated in the event for several years now, was given the opportunity to carry the largest balloon in the parade - a 35' Cookie Monster balloon!  With guided direction from the balloon company and perhaps a little Christmas magic, 15 Patient First employees successfully navigated the balloon through city street lights, overhung tree limbs, and power lines.   Patient First Sponsors Bowie Fest in Bowie, MD

  On Saturday, June 4, more than 20,000 people gathered for the annual Bowie Fest in Bowie, MD. For 45 years, Bowie has celebrated this family-friendly tradition, returning this year with over 200 local vendors to the peaceful Allen Pond Park. This year, Bowie Fest included three stages of entertainment by local entertainers. Other activities included paddle boating, face painting and an arts and crafts area. Around the pond, participants could enjoy and sample food from area vendors. Patient First was a sponsor of the event and Kid’s stage. The Patient First Kid’s stage featured African drum songs, stories, games, Animals of Maryland, Caribbean Influenced Children’s song and a Magic Show. Staff from the Bowie Patient First enjoyed interacting with event attendees.  Several of the event attendees who stopped by our table were complimentary of the services they received and took time to say thank you for the care they received from our doctors, nurses and support staff. We are already looking forward to next year’s event.

  Patient First Celebrates First Responders in Berks County, PA

  Red Knights PA Chapter 10 is a motorcycle club comprised of past and present firefighters and their families who are devoted to helping their fellow First Responders in a variety of ways. They organized their inaugural Berks County Firefighter Appreciation Day, and invited Patient First to be part of the celebration. What an honor it was to stand with so many first responders – fire, ambulance, police and more in a day of appreciation – heroes just like those of us who work in the medical profession during these challenging, pandemic times. This was a family-friendly event … and we interacted with families of all ages. There were about a dozen fire trucks with their crews on site, several EMS/Ambulance providers … and even a medical helicopter flew in and stayed for a few hours. The event provided demonstrations of a vehicle extraction, and extinguishing a vehicle fire – both fascinating to view, and educational.   Hero's Day at the Bowie Baysox Presented by Patient First

  On Sunday, July 21st, the Bowie Baysox, the AA affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles honored first responders with its annual Hero's Day, and for the first time, Patient First was the proud presenting sponsor for the day! This inaugural event sponsorship further deepens our ties with the Baysox, on top of having been in the managing organization of the stadium's First Aid station for years. As the presenting sponsor for Hero's Day, we were afforded a pair of digital billboards on the team's massive scoreboard, two between-inning ad reads by the Baysox PA announcer, a 4x4 banner displayed at the main gate crediting us as the Hero's Day sponsor, an on-air interview during the game on the team's radio partner, WNAV, and participation in the pre-game first pitch ceremony. Dr. Delbert Morales, the regional medical director for DC and Northern Virginia was given the honor of the first pitch ceremony, and threw a very respectable toss to the catcher.
