Silver Spring Thanksgiving Parade
Patient First was excited to participate in the annual Silver Spring Thanksgiving Parade on Saturday, November 20, 2021. This event took place in downtown Silver Spring, MD in Montgomery County and was a 1 mile event. The Silver Spring Thanksgiving was a family-fun event and featured live music, dancers, bands, animals, floats and local elected leaders and organizations. This year’s Patient First float was Christmas themed with Christmas trees, Teddy bear, Christmas present, toy soldiers and drums. Patient First employees were excited to participate and waved to the crowd filled with families that cheered for Patient First. Wising everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

Woodbury's Fall Festival Parade Celebrates Halloween
We had such a blast at Woodbury's 2023 Fall Festival Parade, and we were well represented by an all-Woodbury staff team walking along the parade route this year. It's always great to be invited back to participate in this amazing community event, where we have been part of the action several times over the years. We have so much fun every year and really enjoy interacting with the huge and very enthusiastic crowd the parade draws each year. This year was no exception. Parade goers enjoyed a beautiful fall evening - albeit a bit chilly and breezy - as they watched the participants strut their stuff down Woodbury's Broad Street. We waved at and greeted so many locals and even out-of-towners who came out for the evening to enjoy the parade. This year's parade was Woodbury's 73rd annual event, and the theme this year was "Halloween." There were many parade entries who adopted this theme to entertain everyone along the parade route. Our team of Woodbury Patient First center staff were so excited to step out of their center to enjoy a brisk evening walk, sharing lots of ...
York St. Patrick's Day Parade
It was a cold and blustery day in York, PA on Saturday, March 11th, but the Irish spirit was turned up on high, as thousands lined Market Street to cheer on this year's York St. Patrick's Day Parade! This year marked Patient First's return as a parade sponsor, after a pandemic-forced hiatus, and it was a welcome one, at that! Our staff greatly appreciated the fact that parade organizers arranged to have the local Lutheran church open its hall to parade participants, allowing them to escape the wind and cold while enjoying warm beverages and snacks as they awaited the start of the parade. Once we stepped off to begin, there were plenty of cries of, "We love Patient First!," as we marched the six blocks down West Market Street, handing out band-aid dispensers, hand sanitizers, and yo-yo's to the crowd. Before we knew it, the parade was over, and nearly all of our handouts were gone! Everyone agreed this was a great event to take part in, and we look forward to next St. Patrick's Day and our return!
Allentown St. Patrick’s Day Parade Returns for its 63rd Anniversary Celebration
Allentown St. Patrick’s Day Parade Returns for its 63rd Anniversary Celebration Although the streets of Allentown had been quiet the past two Saint Patrick's Days due to the pandemic, things changed this year. It was exciting to see the return of so many spirited, happy people along the St. Patrick’s Day parade route, and Patient First was thrilled to be a part of the festivities. Folks in Allentown “got their Irish on” during this year’s St. Patrick’s Day parade, and staff from Patient First’s Allentown center joined in the fun. Although the wind was challenging, and the air had more chill than we’d like on parade day, the sun was shining and the spirits were high. Everybody loves a parade, and a little wind and chilly temperatures didn’t dampen the day at all for us or for all who came out to enjoy this great tradition. It was exciting to be a part of the return of one of the Lehigh Valley’s oldest Irish celebrations, now it its 63rd anniversary year. The parade started with a 5K race, and then circled ...
Dominion Energy Christmas Parade
Making our way downtown on the streets of Richmond, Virginia for the 39th annual Dominion Energy Christmas Parade-- what better way to get you in the holiday spirit than a community coming together to spread a little Christmas cheer! Patient First was excited to be one of 93 parade participants involved this year. Our wonderful staff came out to volunteer their time and assist with carrying the giant Abby Cadabby balloon. Abby is a fairy in training from Sesame Street that was 35 feet long. This required a bit of determination and a lot of teamwork, especially with an unfavorable forecast. Rain was predicted to begin right before the start of the parade and continue until early afternoon. With fingers crossed and high hopes for sunshine, the weather did exactly what it said it would. Parade goers lined the streets with tents, ponchos and umbrellas, cheering us on as we made a splash down the over two mile parade route. Despite the rain, we were still able to have a fun, and memorable experience. We cannot wait to see what's in store for year ...
Woodbury's 72nd Fall Fest Parade is a Huge Success
Woodbury's annual Fall Fest Parade was delayed a week this year due to heavy rain, but the new date brought perfect weather for what is undoubtedly one of the town's largest events. This year's 2022 parade was the 72nd in its history, and it did not disappoint. Staff from our Woodbury center brought their smiles and friendly waves as they carried the Patient First banner along the parade route. The evening event began at the corner of Colonial Avenue and North Broad Street and continued to the corner of Carpenter and South Broad streets, lining the route with happy parade goers every step of the way. Groups that participated in the parade stopped for performances in front of the Gloucester County Stage in front of Woodbury High School. We enjoy being out in the community at events like this, and we are already anticipating what the 2023 event schedule will look like. We always value input from local folks who tip us off on events we can take part in, since interactions like this are so fun! Our schedule fills fast, however, so if you or ...
York St. Patrick's Day Parade 2024
Crowds were lined six deep, with numbers in the thousands celebrating all things Irish, as the town of York welcomed the return of the York St. Patrick's Day Parade! This year, the weather wasn't quite as frigid, but March's occasional blustery winds were still a reminder that Spring hasn't quite arrived yet. Fortunately, the folks at Union Lutheran Church near our staging area provided us with shelter and snacks as we waited for step-off time. The crowds were enthusiastically cheering our staff as we made our way down the mile-long, six block parade route. Our staff lined the streets, handing out hand sanitizer and yo-yo's in little pots of gold to the crowd, adding to the festive atmosphere. This is the second year post-pandemic that we've participated in the parade, and we look forward to to leading the way again next year!
