Effective March 6, 2023, Patient First physicians no longer participate as Primary Care Providers in Cigna health plans in Pennsylvania.
Patient First has been forced to make the difficult decision to stop serving as Primary Care Providers (PCPs) to Cigna health plan members in our Pennsylvania medical centers, effective March 6, 2023. Patient First still remains available every day of the year to Cigna members in Pennsylvania for urgent care services, including treatment of routine injuries and illnesses.
What does this mean For Cigna members in Pennsylvania who have selected a Patient First physician as their PCP?
When you visit Patient First for urgent care, it is possible your co-payment may be different than it was when visiting for primary care. These copayment differences are determined by your individual health plan benefits, which are defined by Cigna and your employer.
Patient First physicians continue to participate as PCPs in Cigna plans in Virginia and Maryland. We are hopeful that Cigna will work with us to reach a reasonable and sustainable solution so that Patient First may, once again, provide primary care services to our valued patients in Pennsylvania.
Thank you for choosing Patient First and for trusting us with your care.
